  • Unreleased Kendrick Lamar Track from GKMC Era Surfaces

Fans of Kendrick Lamar have reason to celebrate! Just as ‘good kid, m.A.A.d city’ recently marked its 13th anniversary, a treasure from that iconic era has surfaced online. While artists often have a vault full of incredible material that never makes it to official release, some of these unreleased gems are truly spectacular.

A Glimpse into the GKMC Vault

TDE affiliate MackWop recently shared an hour-long YouTube stream where he was reacting to a video discussing the come-ups of Kendrick Lamar, Drake, and J. Cole. During the segment on K. Dot, MackWop was inspired to dig through some old files. His search led him to an unreleased track from the ‘good kid, m.A.A.d city’ period.

The track, which doesn’t seem to have an official title yet, features Lamar absolutely mastering a beat that samples Radiohead’s ‘Everything In Its Right Place.’ MackWop was reportedly in awe of how effortlessly Kendrick floated over the production, showcasing his incredible talent even during the developmental stages of his now Hall-of-Fame career.

    Hopes for Official Release

While the song is now circulating online thanks to MackWop’s stream, fans are undoubtedly hoping that Kendrick Lamar or TDE might consider an official release in the future. Perhaps for a significant anniversary, like the 15th or 20th, of ‘good kid, m.A.A.d city’? It’s a testament to Kendrick’s artistry that even his unreleased material from over a decade ago continues to impress.

    Kendrick’s Global Tour

In other Kendrick Lamar news, the Compton rapper is gearing up for a world tour. He’s scheduled for a four-date tour in Australia as part of his ‘Grand National’ trek. After wrapping up his South America run in early October, his first Australian stop is set for December 6th at Victoria Park, with additional shows on the 7th, 13th, and 14th. Doechii is expected to join him for these performances.
