Get ready to be inspired! Meet Coco Granderson, a remarkable 13-year-old who isn’t just navigating her teenage years – she’s launching her own skincare brand. And she’s not doing it alone; she’s teamed up with renowned chemist Ron Robinson, the mastermind behind BeautyStat Cosmetics and a key formulator for Hailey Bieber’s popular brand, Rhode.
A Vision for Youth Skincare
Coco’s entrepreneurial journey began at just 11 years old when she realized there was a gap in the market. She noticed that while her friends loved visiting beauty stores like Sephora, they struggled to find products that were both suitable for their skin and had appealing, cool packaging. This sparked her desire to create a brand specifically for kids and teens.
Her mom, Danielle, who has a background in clinical research, recalled Coco’s frustration: “There’s nothing for me. My friends love to go to Sephora, but we can’t find anything that is right for our skin and also has cool packaging.”
The Power of Science and Collaboration
This vision led Coco and her mom to connect with Ron Robinson. Robinson, who has a deep understanding of skincare science, saw the potential in Coco’s idea. He recognized that existing brands he worked with, like BeautyStat and Rhode, weren’t specifically targeting this younger demographic. This presented a unique opportunity to create something entirely new.
Robinson explained, “I want to help these young consumers build a healthy routine around maintaining their barrier, hydrating, protecting their skin, and giving them that glow.” His expertise ensures that Yes Day Beauty offers scientifically-backed formulations, including probiotics, centella asiatica, and antioxidants, tailored for younger skin.
Introducing Yes Day Beauty
The result of this powerful collaboration is Yes Day Beauty, a direct-to-consumer brand that officially launched on October 1st after a successful pre-sale in September. The initial product line includes: The Float Foam Cleanser, Whip Dream Moisturizer, Inner Beam Hydration Mist, and Lip Sweetie Lip Mask. These products are designed to be effective, fun, and perfect for young skin.
Robinson has taken an equity stake and is a co-creator for the brand, highlighting his commitment to its success. It’s a testament to his belief in the next generation of entrepreneurs and the importance of science-led beauty formulations.
