NBA YoungBoy’s recent concert in New Orleans took a chaotic turn when a crowd of fans attempted to storm the Smoothie King Center. The rapper was headlining a show as part of his “Make America Slime Again” tour, and it seems his fans were eager to get in, even without tickets.
Security Lockdown Amidst Fan Surge
The incident led to a temporary lockdown of the venue’s entrances. According to Mike Hoss, a media relations manager for the venue and its management company, non-ticketed individuals tried to enter after the show had already begun. Thankfully, Hoss confirmed that these individuals had already passed through security screening, meaning the venue’s secured perimeter was never compromised.
The situation was quickly managed by venue staff and the New Orleans Police Department (NOPD), who dispersed the crowd. The concert itself continued without any further interruptions, allowing ticket-holding fans to enjoy the full duration of the show.
Tour Details and Manager’s Claims
NBA YoungBoy’s “Make America Slime Again” tour kicked off in September and is scheduled to wrap up in November with a final show in Seattle. He’s been joined by a lineup of supporting acts including DeeBaby, K3, Lil Dump, NoCap, Offset, and Toosii.
Adding to the drama, NBA YoungBoy’s manager, Alex Junnier, reportedly posted on Instagram that NOPD Superintendent Anne Kirkpatrick had banned the rapper from performing in Louisiana. However, this post was later deleted. During the same New Orleans show, Adin Ross and Cuffem attempted to get YoungBoy to join their livestream backstage, but he declined, with a team member stating he wasn’t interested in “streaming sh*t.”
