Jayceon Terrell Taylor, better known as The Game, is getting candid about his romantic past. In a recent appearance on Kirk Franklin’s “Den of Kings” podcast, alongside Snoop Dogg, Big Boi, Matt Barnes, and Deon Cole, the rapper opened up about his dating habits in his younger years and how his perspective has evolved as he’s gotten older.
From Casual Encounters to Emotional Investment
Reflecting on his 20s and 30s, The Game described his approach to relationships as purely transactional. “It was, ‘Hey, hey, I’m giving you this. We’re having our moment and I’m going to get back to my life. You get back to yours.’ No emotions because you’re young,” he explained. He admitted that back then, there was little emotional investment involved.
However, as he entered his 40s, his outlook shifted significantly. “When you get in your 40s, man, you start feeling like you’re womanizing, and I’m taking emotions home with me,” he confessed. This change reflects a growing awareness of the emotional impact his actions have on others, especially when intimacy is involved.
Increased Accountability with Age
The rapper highlighted how his sense of accountability has grown over time. He noted the difference between dating younger women when he was younger, where “ain’t nobody tripping,” versus dating older women who may carry past relationship trauma. “Once you start getting intimate with people and you know for sure that they are invested in you even a little bit, and you know you ain’t talking to this person after tomorrow…” he trailed off, implying a deeper consideration for the other person’s feelings.
A Public Dating History
The Game’s reflections come after a very public dating life. He welcomed his first child, Harlem Taylor, with model Aleska Jordan in 2003. He later dated reality TV star Tiffany Cambridge for several years, with whom he has two children, King Justice Taylor and California Dream Taylor. Most recently, he and podcast host Sheinice Hairston welcomed a son, Blaze Taylor, in December 2024, though they have since reportedly parted ways.
Hairston confirmed their breakup on her podcast, expressing the challenges of dating as a single mother. While The Game didn’t directly address her comments, he posted a cryptic message on Instagram Stories shortly after, hinting at the complexities of dating. His evolving views suggest a desire for more meaningful connections as he matures.
