If you’ve ever wanted to experience the full spectrum of Black music history colliding in one vibrant space, look no further than ONE Musicfest 2025! Atlanta’s Piedmont Park was transformed into the epicenter of Black music excellence, proving once again why this festival is the largest Black-owned, open-air, multi-stage event in America. It was a weekend filled with incredible performances, community vibes, and unforgettable moments.
The Pulse of Atlanta
From the moment you stepped into the park, the energy was palpable. Attendees embraced the festive atmosphere with grassy picnics, cozy layers against the cloudy sky, and the ubiquitous sounds of Hennessy cocktails and impromptu dancing. The bassline resonated through Midtown, creating a heartbeat that pulsed with the spirit of Atlanta.
More than just a music festival, ONE Musicfest felt like a community reunion. Vendors offered everything from delicious wings to handmade jewelry, and small businesses shared valuable city resources. It was a true celebration of culture, community, and, of course, an absolutely stellar lineup.
A Stacked Lineup of Icons
The 2025 lineup was nothing short of legendary, featuring Future, a Dungeon Family Reunion & Friends (honoring Rico Wade), the Queen of Hip-Hop Soul Mary J. Blige, Ludacris, Jazmine Sullivan, The Roots, Kehlani, Doechii, Wale, and a highly anticipated set from Clipse. Even with a bit of drizzle, the crowd remained engaged, singing and dancing along to every beat.
Jazmine Sullivan delivered a particularly moving performance, dedicating her song “Lost One” to her late mother on her birthday. The emotional resonance was palpable, with the audience holding up their phones in a moment of shared reflection. Sydney Clarke, Project Manager at Quality Control Music, perfectly captured the sentiment: “I truly felt like the festival put on for the city and the generations of hip hop that came from it!”
Beyond the Stages: Sponsor Activations
The festival grounds were transformed into a playground by sponsors like Hennessy and Backwoods. Hennessy’s Hub offered an immersive experience with crafted cocktails, curated art, and a lounge atmosphere that felt like a VIP club. Meanwhile, the Backwoods Backstage buzzed with industry connections and conversations, serving as a creative hub for artists, musicians, and podcasters.
Attendees raved about the activations, with many highlighting the chance to connect with fellow creatives. Artist Nouvel described it as “a creative hub filled with actors, musicians, and some of the best podcasters all under one roof.” The sense of community and shared passion was a recurring theme throughout the weekend.
The Soul of the South: Jai’Len Josey
Among the many standout performances, Atlanta-bred artist Jai’Len Josey captivated the audience with her playful yet powerful stage presence. Her authentic energy and smooth vocals shone through, reminding everyone of the deep talent nurtured in the South. “This is my second One Music Fest performance and I’m just happy to be on a stage that supports the culture,” Josey shared backstage.
Her performance, and that of many others, underscored Atlanta’s role as a vital incubator for Black music and creativity. It was a weekend that celebrated legacy while embracing the future, solidifying ONE Musicfest’s status as a cultural touchstone.
