  • 6ix9ine Gets 3 Months for Probation Violation

Well, it looks like rapper 6ix9ine is heading back behind bars. A judge has handed down a three-month prison sentence for violating his supervised release. This latest legal trouble adds another layer to the already complex history of the artist, whose real name is Daniel Hernandez.

    A Pattern of Violations

Prosecutors had been pushing for a sentence between three and nine months, and Hernandez admitted to breaching the terms of his release. This isn’t the first time he’s run into trouble since his 2018 racketeering case, where he famously cooperated with authorities against the Nine Trey Gangsta Bloods. He was released early in 2020, but his supervised release has been a bumpy road.

According to Billboard, 6ix9ine has accumulated several violations during his five-year supervised release period. Just last November (2024), he pleaded guilty to drug use and an unauthorized trip to Las Vegas, which resulted in a 45-day jail sentence and an extended year of supervised release. Things didn’t stop there; in February, he was found with cocaine and MDMA, and later that August, he was involved in a mall brawl in Florida.

    Defense Arguments and Sentencing

His legal team, led by attorney Lance Lazzaro, had argued for six months of house arrest. They pointed out that the drug amounts were minimal and the assault didn’t cause serious injuries. Lazzaro also emphasized the potential dangers of jail for Hernandez, noting that he typically serves his time in isolation, limiting social interaction and outdoor time.

Despite these arguments, the judge decided on the three-month prison sentence. 6ix9ine is scheduled to begin serving his time on January 6, 2026. It’s a stark reminder that probation terms come with serious consequences.
