Kimora Lee Simmons Steps Up as Mom to Combs Twins

It’s heartwarming to see how loved ones rally around family during tough times. D’Lila and Jessie Combs, the twin daughters of the late Kim Porter and Sean “Diddy” Combs, have found a strong maternal presence in Kimora Lee Simmons. Following their mother’s passing in 2018 and their father’s current legal challenges, Simmons has embraced a significant role in their lives.

A Mother Figure’s Support

Kimora Lee Simmons, a close friend of the late Kim Porter, has become a vital mother figure to the twins. This deepened involvement comes especially after Diddy’s arrest in September 2024 on charges including racketeering and sex trafficking. Simmons, who is also a mother to five children, sees the Combs twins as part of her extended family.

During a recent appearance on ‘Today with Jenna & Friends’ to promote her show ‘Kimora: Back in the Fab Lane,’ Simmons shared her perspective. “I have my kids, and then I have kids on the side,” she explained, highlighting her expansive maternal role. She specifically mentioned having “all of her friend’s kids” – referring to Kim Porter’s children – under her care, noting that some are now adults, including the 18-year-old twins.

It Takes a Village

Simmons acknowledges that raising multiple children, especially under challenging circumstances, requires a strong support system. “It takes a village,” she stated, emphasizing the network of godmothers, aunties, and friends who contribute. “I have a lot of help. It’s really a village of women. I’m supported by women.”

For the Combs twins, Simmons is a constant presence. “They’re with me. I just got off the phone with them! I’m a lot of people’s mom,” she shared. This nurturing environment provides a crucial sense of stability as they navigate their late teens and early adulthood.

Resilience and Future Aspirations

Despite their losses, D’Lila and Jessie have shown remarkable resilience. They recently stunned at their prom and graduated from Sierra Canyon High School. Their older brothers, Quincy Brown, Justin Combs, and Christian Combs, also provide significant support.

Following in their mother’s footsteps, the twins are building careers as models, recently walking the runway for Ellaé Lisqué’s anniversary show. They’ve expressed ambitious goals, aiming to build a billion-dollar brand and achieve skyrocketing modeling careers by age 21, driven by their individuality and talents.
