It seems like justice is served for Porsha Williams! The ‘Real Housewives of Atlanta’ star is experiencing a significant moment of vindication following the release of body-camera footage from the Atlanta Police Department. The footage appears to corroborate her account of a dispute aboard a Delta flight, suggesting she was the victim, not the aggressor.
The Altercation and Williams’ Account
The incident occurred on November 16th at Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport. According to Porsha’s lawyer, Joe Habachy, she was “verbally assaulted by an irate and unhinged passenger without provocation.” Porsha herself recounted that the confrontation began when another passenger, described as a white woman, told her to stop listening to an Instagram video aloud before calling her a “b-tch.”
Williams stated that she asked for the woman to be moved. However, the accuser then attempted to film Porsha, dropped her phone, and falsely claimed Porsha had hit her, threatening to press charges and have her jailed. While Porsha admitted to being upset and telling the woman to “Get your ugly ass out of here,” she adamantly denies any physical contact.
Eyewitnesses Back Porsha’s Story
Crucially, the newly released body-cam videos include statements from multiple passengers who were present during the incident. These eyewitnesses immediately came to Porsha’s defense, insisting she was not the aggressor. One witness, who was sitting nearby, told Porsha, “I was there. What I heard was reprehensible. The woman got in your face and gave you the middle finger… I’m so sorry. That’s why I’m asking if you’re okay.”
Another passenger corroborated this, stating from two rows behind that there was “no physical altercation” initially. He described the accuser becoming “really animated and started screaming,” and that Porsha’s only physical action was pointing, while her verbal response was simply, “Don’t talk to me like that.”
Conflicting Accounts and Federal Review
The accuser, however, provided a conflicting account on camera, claiming Porsha “beat” her and that flight attendants couldn’t intervene because they had to be buckled in. She alleged Porsha held her fingernail close to her eye and knocked her phone out of her hand, expressing fear for her safety. Federal authorities, including the Atlanta FBI, are reportedly reviewing the case to determine if federal charges apply.
Porsha’s attorney remains confident that the truth will prevail, emphasizing that his client was subjected to verbal assault and false allegations. He stated Porsha intends to cooperate fully with law enforcement.
