The ongoing scandal surrounding Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs continues to draw in more figures from the hip-hop world, and now, it’s directly involving the son of a legend. CJ Wallace, son of the late Notorious B.I.G., has officially filed a defamation lawsuit against publicist Jonathan Hay over explosive sexual assault claims.
The Initial Allegations
The situation began when Jonathan Hay, initially suing anonymously, accused CJ Wallace, Willie Mack, and Sean Combs of luring him into a situation where Combs allegedly attempted to force oral sex upon him. Hay later revealed his identity to TMZ and further accused Wallace of being romantically involved with both Diddy and Mack, as well as participating in alleged ‘freak-off’ parties.
These serious allegations were reportedly tied to a posthumous Notorious B.I.G. remix project. While a single titled ‘Ready To Dance’ was released in 2020, the lawsuit states that Wallace and the Biggie Smalls Estate decided not to proceed with the remaining songs. Reasons cited included low audience interest in the single, Hay’s ‘erratic behavior,’ and creative differences.
Wallace’s Legal Response
Now, CJ Wallace is fighting back. His new lawsuit, filed in Florida, claims that Hay’s accusations are false and part of a ‘calculated smear campaign’ conducted through interviews in 2024 and 2025. Wallace asserts that these claims were made with ‘actual malice’ and with the clear intent to damage his personal and professional reputation.
The lawsuit filing reportedly states that Hay acted with ‘actual malice, knowing the statements were false or with reckless disregard for their truth or falsity.’ Wallace also claims that Hay threatened to release leftover music from the project without permission and never mentioned any allegations during the time they were working together.
Broader Legal and Criminal Context
This legal battle unfolds amidst a backdrop of other significant legal issues. Diddy himself is facing numerous allegations and lawsuits, and his prison release date was recently delayed due to alleged infractions at FCI Fort Dix, including possessing homemade alcohol and making an unauthorized phone call. The Biggie Smalls estate has also reportedly sued Hay for defamation, while Diddy’s team has vehemently denied all allegations against him.
As this civil case develops, it adds another layer to the ongoing legal drama surrounding Diddy and the broader hip-hop community. It’s clear that the fallout from these allegations is far-reaching and continues to evolve weekly.
