It seems Offset’s desire to “move on in peace” after his split from Cardi B was short-lived. Just months after releasing his album “KIARI,” which featured an apology song, the Migos rapper has dropped a surprise project, “Haunted By Fame,” and it’s filled with lyrical jabs aimed at his estranged wife and her new man, NFL star Stefon Diggs.
Petty Shots Fired on ‘NO SWEAT’
On the track “NO SWEAT,” Offset appears to reference Cardi B’s relationship with Diggs, who is reportedly expecting their fourth child together. The lyrics include, “How the f*ck you leave Jordan for Rodman? (Huh?)” and “You a fool if you think that I’m hurt.” He then takes a direct shot at Cardi B’s pregnancy, rapping, “How you married and still givin’ birth? (Hey) / Get some help, b*tch, you goin’ berserk (Hey).”
These lines have certainly stirred up a reaction online, with many Cardi B fans criticizing Offset for his “brutal and petty” dig. Comments on social media platforms like X include sentiments like, “Being worried about your estranged wife moving on is nuts,” and harsh advice to “sign the divorce papers offsh*t.”
A Drastic Tone Shift
This aggressive tone marks a significant shift from Offset’s previous public statements. He had previously expressed regret over his treatment of Cardi B and stated his desire for an amicable separation. However, it appears that anger and resentment may still be simmering beneath the surface, as evidenced by the confrontational lyrics on “Haunted By Fame.”
The surprise release of “Haunted By Fame” also coincides with the anniversary of another significant project: the 2017 trap classic “Without Warning” by Offset, 21 Savage, and Metro Boomin. While the new album brings its own set of controversies, it taps into a nostalgic release date for many fans.
