Turkey Hut Co-Founder Arrested for Felony Charges

You might know Turkey Hut for its viral food moments and celebrity sightings, but its co-founder, Nakia Holmes, is now in the headlines for a very different reason. Holmes is facing serious felony charges after allegedly getting in the way of a kidnapping arrest. It’s a dramatic turn of events for someone associated with such a popular spot.

The Allegations Unfold

According to reports from Fox 26 Houston, court documents paint a concerning picture. Jonathan Saizon, accused of kidnapping his ex-girlfriend and assaulting her with a tire iron, was the subject of a police investigation. The victim’s son reportedly told authorities that his mother was held against her will for a staggering six hours.

Saizon has since been hit with charges of aggravated kidnapping and aggravated assault of a family member. But the story doesn’t end there. Authorities claim Holmes became involved, allegedly hindering the police’s efforts to apprehend Saizon. This interference is what led to her own legal troubles.

Interfering with Justice

Harris County officers reportedly observed Saizon at Holmes’ residence, right at the end of her driveway. When questioned by the officers, Holmes’ story allegedly shifted. She initially claimed she was picking up Saizon’s mother, a statement that apparently didn’t hold up. This is when she was taken into custody, facing felony charges for obstructing justice.

A History of Struggles

This isn’t the first time Holmes has been in the news for difficult reasons. Even though Turkey Hut has been closed for about a year, she’s still listed as an owner. Court filings reveal a dire financial situation, with Holmes reportedly declaring only $700 in assets. The restaurant, once a hotspot for viral food content and famous faces, began facing difficulties amid allegations of financial misconduct.

Her personal life has also seen its share of turmoil. Holmes divorced her former husband and business partner, Lyndell Price, in 2023, citing abuse during their marriage. Adding to the restaurant’s woes, the Turkey Leg Hut was tragically destroyed in a fire in March 2024, leading to its permanent closure by the Houston Health Department. Bankruptcy filings have also reportedly added to her financial burdens.

  • Allegations of financial misconduct impacting the business.
  • Personal struggles including divorce citing abuse.
  • Restaurant closure due to fire and health department action.
  • Bankruptcy filings adding to financial difficulties.
