Caitlyn Jenner is now at the center of a class-action lawsuit concerning the $JENNER meme coin. Investors claim that after an aggressive promotional push, the cryptocurrency project dramatically collapsed, leaving them with substantial losses. The lawsuit alleges that Jenner and her manager, Sophia Hutchins, played a key role in promoting the token.
Allegations of Misleading Promotions
According to court documents, investor Lee Greenfield claims Jenner and Hutchins marketed the $JENNER token as a promising long-term investment. Screenshots of social media posts allegedly show Jenner encouraging fans to buy the coin, even writing, “We’re sending this coin to the moon!!!” The lawsuit also states that Jenner used messaging associated with Donald Trump to attract potential buyers.
The project reportedly began to unravel quickly after Jenner started promoting another cryptocurrency, $BBARK. Investors claim the original $JENNER token plummeted, losing approximately 75 percent of its value not long after its launch.
The Role of Crypto Promoters and Financial Losses
The lawsuit also names crypto promoter Sahil Arora, who allegedly helped launch the project. Arora is accused of later withdrawing funds tied to the token, a move that drew criticism from Jenner herself, according to the filing. Greenfield states he personally lost over $40,000 as a result of investing in the coin.
The core accusation is that Jenner misled investors about the cryptocurrency’s stability and future prospects. Meanwhile, others connected to the project are alleged to have profited from sales and transaction fees, further fueling the investors’ claims of deception.
This lawsuit raises important questions about celebrity endorsements in the volatile world of cryptocurrency. What are your thoughts on Caitlyn Jenner’s involvement with the $JENNER coin and the subsequent lawsuit? Share your perspective in the comments below!
