Pusha T’s Cousinz Fest Returns: T.I., Keyshia Cole & More

Hampton Roads, get ready! The region that gave us music titans like Timbaland, Missy Elliott, Pharrell Williams, and Pusha T is getting the spotlight it deserves with the return of the Cousinz Festival. This year’s event promises another incredible lineup, celebrating the rich musical heritage of coastal Virginia.

A Star-Studded September Lineup

Mark your calendars for September 5th! The third annual Cousinz Festival will take over the Norfolk Scope Grounds in Norfolk, Virginia, featuring headliners T.I., Keyshia Cole, The-Dream, and Plies. This diverse lineup aims to capture the essence of the region’s musical impact, blending legendary hip-hop, soulful R&B, and that signature down-south trap sound.

Grammy-winning co-founder Pusha T shared the vision: “We wanted a mix of everything.” From The-Dream’s songwriting prowess to Keyshia Cole’s electrifying live performances, attendees are in for a treat. It’s a chance to experience the music that has shaped culture, live and direct from its roots.

Rooted in the 757 Community

What makes Cousinz Festival truly special is its origin. Created by Hampton Roads natives Pusha T, FAMLAY, and Antonio Dowe (CEO of Global Music Touring), the festival is built “FOR the 757.” This community-focused approach builds on the success of Norfolk’s RnB Block Party, which previously drew over 35,000 people.

Antonio Dowe emphasized this unique aspect: “Each year, we’ve been proud of its growth as attendees are now traveling from different states for the ‘Cousinz vibe.’” He described it as a “feel good’ time of music and community,” promising an enhanced experience this year with improved activations, aesthetics, and an overall family reunion atmosphere.

More Than Just Music

Beyond the incredible performances, Cousinz Festival is committed to giving back. The event consistently features scholarship initiatives, neighborhood revitalization efforts, panel discussions, and culinary showcases. FAMLAY highlighted this community component, stating, “The music and talent is great, but the community component is where we really salute our partners.”

This year also sees the expansion of Cousinz Radio through a formal partnership with Norfolk State University’s WNSB Hot 91.1, airing Saturday afternoons. The festival continues to solidify its role as a vital cultural event for the region and beyond.
