Singer D4vd Arrested in Teen’s Death

Singer-songwriter D4vd, born David Anthony Burke, has been arrested in connection with the death of a 14-year-old girl. The Los Angeles Police Department confirmed his arrest on April 16, 2026, following a months-long investigation.

Investigation into Dismembered Remains

The case began in September 2025 when employees at a Hollywood impound lot reported a foul odor coming from a Tesla registered to Burke. The vehicle, found abandoned, was searched by authorities who discovered the severely decomposed and dismembered remains of 14-year-old Celeste Rivas Hernandez.

Forensic evidence suggested Hernandez had been deceased for several weeks prior to the discovery. The LAPD had previously searched a property linked to the singer in the Hollywood Hills but had not publicly identified him as a suspect until this recent arrest.

Suspicions and Legal Proceedings

Burke, 21, is currently being held without bail. The Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office is expected to review the case on April 20 to determine if there is enough evidence to file formal charges. This arrest follows a secret grand jury probe into Hernandez’s death, as reported by The New York Times.

Attorneys for D4vd, Blair Berk, Marilyn Bednarski, and Regina Peter, have stated that their client was “only detained under suspicion.” They emphasized that “the actual evidence in this case will show that David Burke did not murder Celeste Rivas Hernandez, and he was not the cause of her death.” They also noted that no indictment or criminal complaint has been filed yet.

The investigation has also brought attention to allegations of an inappropriate relationship between Burke and the victim. Family members of Rivas Hernandez reportedly told local media that she had met the singer online and had been seen with him previously.
