You won’t believe what’s surfaced! Wild bodycam footage has emerged showing T.I.’s son, King Harris, in a tense standoff with police during a recent traffic stop. The incident, which occurred on April 12th in Peachtree Corners, Georgia, has raised a lot of questions, and the video offers a raw look at the encounter.
Caught Speeding in a Cybertruck
The Gwinnett County Police Department released the bodycam video, detailing how officers pulled over King Harris for allegedly driving his Tesla Cybertruck at a blistering 70 mph in a 45 mph zone. According to officers on the scene, the camouflage-wrapped Cybertruck was moving so fast that one officer had to hit 80 mph just to catch up. Imagine that speed!
As captured in the footage, an officer can be heard telling Harris, “You were absolutely flying down the road.” The stop took a more serious turn when officers reported spotting a handgun on the dashboard and an open THC container in the center console. This discovery led to officers ordering Harris out of the vehicle.
Refusal to Comply and Arrest
The bodycam video shows King Harris initially refusing to exit the Cybertruck multiple times. Officers warned him that failure to comply could lead to an arrest for obstruction of justice. “You’re under arrest if you don’t step out,” one officer stated clearly in the video.
Ultimately, after a phone conversation with his attorney, Harris did exit the vehicle. However, the situation didn’t end there. During the booking process, authorities reported finding what appeared to be an oxycodone pill on Harris. He was subsequently charged with obstruction, speeding, and possession of a controlled substance.
T.I. Involved Post-Arrest
The video also captures officers speaking with King Harris’s father, the well-known rapper T.I., after the arrest. The presence of T.I. highlights the family’s involvement and concern surrounding the incident.
