Destiny Payton on Family, Loyalty & Love Life

This season of ‘Love & Marriage: Huntsville’ is bringing the drama, and Destiny Payton is at the center of it all. In an exclusive interview, she’s opening up about confronting her past, navigating strained friendships, and redefining her standards for love. Get ready for a raw and revealing chapter from the MaDonni Beauty creator.

Unpacking a Difficult Past

Destiny is taking viewers back to her roots in Detroit, peeling back the layers of her childhood, including her experiences with foster care and her mother’s struggles with addiction. She’ll also be introducing her biological mother and the woman who raised her, alongside the journey of finding her half-siblings. “You get to go back to Detroit with me and see my roots,” she told BOSSIP. “You’re finally getting the chance to peel back the layers of where I come from, and who I am.”

Filming these deeply personal moments was incredibly challenging. Destiny admitted she initially didn’t want to film with her biological mother but ultimately felt it was a necessary step for her personal growth and to reclaim her narrative. “It gave me the power to take away whatever story other people wanted to tell for me,” she explained. She also touched on the complexities of her relationship with her mother, noting shared traits that sometimes create friction.

Navigating Friendship and Loyalty

Beyond family revelations, the season also highlights lingering tension between Destiny and LaTisha Scott. Trust issues and questions of loyalty have resurfaced, stemming from past conflicts involving Martell Holt and Nell Fletcher. Destiny, however, is drawing a firm line. “Now my side is just Destiny’s side. It’s just me,” she declared. “I’m no longer explaining. My loyalty shows up and is loud.”

Seeking a ‘Daddy Boyfriend’

Destiny’s personal life is also a hot topic, particularly her dating journey in Huntsville. She admits the dating scene has been challenging, with men struggling to keep up with her. Despite speculation about her interactions with multiple men on the show, Destiny clarified that she has been abstinent for two years, valuing her body and her standards. She’s looking for a partner grounded in faith, focused on family, and emotionally mature – someone her son, Law, affectionately calls a ‘daddy boyfriend.’

“I need a man that is accountable to God first,” she stated. “I need protection, a provider, and someone that’s continuously growing.” Her son’s simple request for a ‘daddy boyfriend’ perfectly encapsulates her desire for a supportive, present, and responsible partner.

Expanding Her Empire

In addition to her reality TV presence, Destiny is returning to her real estate roots and continuing to build her brand, MaDonni. She’s also exploring music, acting, and podcasting, embracing a more fully realized version of herself. Fans can also catch a cameo from Destiny in the upcoming ‘Belle Collective: Birmingham’ spinoff, supporting her friend Stormi Steele.
